2026-10-11 · English below
2026-10-02 개정으로 Firebase Analytics(앱 사용 통계)와 Firebase Crashlytics(오류 보고)를 추가했습니다.
Apple
|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics (앱 사용 통계) |
| Firebase Crashlytics (오류 보고) |

INTERNET— 리더보드·광고 통신com.android.vending.BILLING— Google Play 결제 (무광고 상품)com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID,ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID— 광고 SDK가 자동으로 추가하는 광고 ID 접근 권한

MatchCat Blocks · Last updated 2026-10-11
MatchCat Blocks ("the Game") handles your data as described below.
The Game shows ads through Google AdMob (added in the 2026-09-08 revision), and offers a paid item that removes them.
The 2026-10-02 revision adds Firebase Analytics (app usage statistics) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting). The previous statement that the Game contains “no analytics or tracking SDKs” is no longer true and has been removed. What is collected, and how to refuse it, is described in 1e below.
The 2026-10-11 revision adds the iPhone (iOS) version: Sign in with Apple (1a), the iOS advertising identifier and App Tracking Transparency (1c), App Store purchases (1d), how to refuse collection on iOS (1c, 1e), and Apple as a processor (4). Nothing about the Android version has changed.
1. What we collect
a. When you sign in with Google or Apple
Signing in is required for the leaderboard, check-ins and the cat collection. Android uses Google sign-in; on iPhone you can choose Sign in with Apple or Google. Google's Firebase Authentication then stores:
- Your email address — if you choose Hide My Email in Sign in with Apple, this is an
Apple relay address (
…@privaterelay.appleid.com), not your real one - Your Google display name and profile photo URL (Google sign-in only)
- Account identifier (UID), sign-up time, last sign-in time
The Game itself only reads the UID. It never copies your email, name or photo into its database and never displays them. We disclose the above because that data is nonetheless held by Firebase Authentication.
Sign in with Apple asks whether to share your name and email, but the Game does not store your name. You can disconnect the Game from your Apple account at any time in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple.
b. While you play
| Item | Detail | How |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Leaderboard name (1–12 characters) | You type it |
| Country code | Two letters such as KR or US | Inferred from your device language setting. No location permission and no IP lookup. If it cannot be determined, nothing is stored |
| Game records | Score, move sequence, seed, duration, run summary (line/match counts and so on) | Automatic |
| Progress | Check-in dates, streak, in-game currency and owned skins, journey progress, daily attempts used | Automatic |
| Device class | A single mobile-or-not boolean | Automatic |
Move sequences are stored to verify records: a score alone cannot be checked, but with the seed and the moves the run can be replayed and the score confirmed.
c. When you see an ad
The Game shows ads through Google AdMob. To select and serve them, Google collects and uses the following. This never reaches the Game's own database, and we neither see nor store any individual's ad history.
- The advertising ID — the Android advertising ID, or on iPhone the advertising identifier (IDFA): an identifier you can reset, delete or withhold at any time in device settings. On iPhone it is used only if you allow it under App Tracking Transparency, below
- Device and app information (model, OS and app version, language) and approximate, IP-derived location (country/region level)
- Ad impressions, clicks and similar interactions
See Google's How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Ads privacy notice.
Consent and turning off personalised ads
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: Google's consent screen (UMP) appears on first launch and your choice there decides whether ads are personalised. The Game remains fully playable either way. You can change that choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy settings, which reopens the same screen. The entry appears only in regions where consent applies.
- Everywhere (Android): deleting your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads stops personalised advertising.
- Everywhere (iPhone): on first launch, a short explanation is followed by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (“Allow this app to track your activity?”). If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the advertising identifier is not used and the Game also turns off the consent signals used for ad personalisation. The Game remains fully playable. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- To remove ads entirely: buy the ad-free item described in (d).
d. When you buy the ad-free item
Purchases go through Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store (Apple) on iPhone, and nothing else. Payment methods, card numbers and billing addresses are never seen or received by the Game — Google Play or Apple handles all of it.
The Android app reads the Google Play purchase receipt on your device only, to check it against Google's signature and confirm the purchase is genuine. The iPhone app reads only the transaction number the App Store provides, on your device, and shows it in Settings so you can quote it if you contact us about a purchase. Either way that information is never transmitted or stored on any server of ours, and ownership is re-checked with the store on every launch.
e. App usage statistics and crash reporting (added 2026-10-02)
To learn where players stop and what makes the screen freeze, the Game uses Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. The information below is collected and processed by Google and never reaches the Game's own database.
| Tool | What is collected |
|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics (usage statistics) |
A Google-issued app instance ID (reissued if you reinstall) · your advertising ID (Android advertising ID; on iPhone, the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking) · device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language) · country and region inferred from your IP address · app launches and screen changes · ad-free item purchases (product ID, name and price) · the three events listed below |
| Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting) |
A Crashlytics installation UUID · the technical record of where the error
occurred (stack trace) · device and app information · a short trail of what the app was doing
(for example journey level 12 started) |
Ad-free item purchases are not sent by the Game: Analytics records them automatically from Google Play or App Store billing. Only the product and price are included, never card numbers or other payment details. Analytics also collects the advertising ID under its default settings.
Beyond that, the Game itself sends only three events to Analytics, all about game progress:
- How far you got through the tutorial hints
- How you answered a “continue” offer (watched an ad, given free, declined, or left midway)
- Whether an ad played successfully or failed
Nothing identifying you is attached. Your account identifier (UID), name and email are never sent to Analytics or Crashlytics, and the short trail in crash reports records the path through the game, not the person. Fine-grained values such as journey level numbers are kept out of screen names too.
How to refuse
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: this is decided by the same consent screen (UMP) described in 1c. If you do not consent, the above is not collected, and the Game remains fully playable. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy settings.
- If we cannot determine your consent (for example a network error), we treat it as refused and collect nothing.
- Everywhere: deleting your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads stops personalised processing. On iPhone, choosing Ask App Not to Track in the App Tracking Transparency prompt from 1c (or turning it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking) keeps the advertising identifier out.
2. Why we use it
- Ranking and displaying the leaderboards (all-time, weekly, daily)
- Storing check-in rewards, the cat collection and journey progress
- Enforcing the daily challenge attempt limit
- Verifying records and analysing statistics to improve game balance
- Serving ads and pacing how often they appear (the pacing rules are computed on your device only and are never uploaded)
- Checking whether you own the ad-free item, and removing ads accordingly
- App usage statistics — to see where players drop off and fix the game (see 1e)
- Diagnosing and fixing errors (see 1e)
3. What is public
Leaderboards are readable by anyone without signing in. Three things are public: your name, your country code and your score. Your email address, real name and profile photo are never public. If you prefer not to appear, simply do not register a name — the Game remains fully playable.
4. Processors
Google LLC processes data on our behalf: Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (game data), Firebase Hosting (this page and the deletion request page), AdMob (serving ads, see 1c) and Google Play Billing (payments, see 1d), Firebase Analytics (usage statistics, see 1e) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting, see 1e). On iPhone, Apple Inc. handles Sign in with Apple (see 1a) and App Store payments (see 1d). We do not sell or otherwise share personal data with third parties.
5. Where data is stored
- Game records, names and progress (Cloud Firestore): Seoul, South Korea (asia-northeast3)
- Account information (Firebase Authentication): Google's global infrastructure, which may be outside Korea, including the United States
- Ad-related information (AdMob): Google's global infrastructure, processed outside Korea, including the United States
- Usage statistics and crash reports (Analytics, Crashlytics): Google's global infrastructure, processed outside Korea, including the United States
6. Retention and deletion
- Data is kept until you request deletion.
- On request, your account and all records are irreversibly deleted within 30 days.
- This covers your sign-in account (email, name and photo included), leaderboard records, name, check-in history, currency and skins, journey progress, and all run summaries.
- Usage statistics and crash reports are held by Google on their own schedules — Analytics data is deleted after 14 months, Crashlytics reports after 90 days. Neither carries your account identifier, so they cannot be traced back to an individual and are not covered by the deletion request above. If you would rather they were not collected at all, use the refusal options in 1e.
7. Your rights
- In the app: Title screen → Settings → “Delete account”. For an account signed in with Apple, deleting it also revokes the Sign in with Apple connection (Apple asks you to confirm once more)
- On the web: Account deletion request page — usable even after uninstalling the app
- By email: contact us at the address below
To request a copy of your stored data, email us at the address below.
8. Security
- In transit: all traffic uses TLS (HTTPS); the app does not permit cleartext connections.
- At rest: Google Cloud encrypts stored data by default.
- Access control: server-side security rules allow writes only to your own data, and your collection, progress and run summaries are readable only by you.
9. What we do not collect
Into our own database: no permission-based location, contacts, photos or media, call logs, payment details, or device/browser fingerprints. We do not read the advertising ID either — as described in 1c and 1e, that is handled by Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics and never reaches our servers.
The same applies to the app instance ID and Crashlytics installation UUID in 1e: issued by Google, handled by Google, never entering the Game's database, and never linked to your account identifier, name or email.
On iPhone, the only permission the app asks for is App Tracking Transparency (use of the advertising identifier, see 1c). It never asks for location, photos, contacts, camera or microphone.
The app requests four Android permissions: INTERNET (leaderboard and ads),
com.android.vending.BILLING (Google Play purchases), and
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, which the ads SDK
adds automatically. High scores, volume settings, language and journey stars stay on your device and are
never uploaded.
10. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 14. If we learn that a child under 14 has registered without guardian consent, we delete that account and its data without delay.
11. Changes
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page with a revision date. Significant changes are also announced in the app.
